IM Properties has donated £800 to Compass Support, the charitable subsidiary of The Pioneer Group following a recent fundraising event.
The charitable donation was part of an IM Properties Peddimore event, which presented its groundbreaking vision for the scheme to local Midlands property agents. Each guest received a charity token worth £100 to donate to one of IM Properties’ four charity partners, and The Pioneer Group received eight tokens.
The donated funds will be used to provide employability support to the local community, delivered by Compass Support.
The Pioneer Group and Compass Support are working with IM Properties to support local people, in Castle Vale, Stockland Green and Falcon Lodge, to access new job opportunities at Peddimore.
David Smith, Planning Director, from IM Properties said:
We’re delighted to support the fantastic work of The Pioneer Group, as we work hard to create both a social and economic asset for the region and create job opportunities for the surrounding communities.
Peddimore is one of the UK’s most significant new manufacturing and logistics sites that will deliver 2.7 million sq ft of employment space. Located near Birmingham, just 2.5 miles from junction 9, M42, Peddimore is set to create up to 6500 jobs on site and contribute £350 million to the local economy.
Birmingham City Council selected IM Properties as its preferred development partner for Peddimore after a rigorous international competition.
The Pioneer Group is one of Peddimore’s four social value partners including Jericho Foundation, St Basils and Witton Lodge.
Alan Crawford, Head of Fundraising for The Pioneer Group said:
We’re really proud of the work we do to help our residents get back to work or find their first job, so receiving this donation is a fantastic recognition for our team and efforts.
We welcome the Peddimore development and are excited about the employment opportunities it offers to our residents.
