The Pioneer Group has launched a new text service called See it, Report it! to encourage the reporting of any causes for concern in Castle Vale, including anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping, dog fouling or damage to estate property.
Residents simply need to text VALE along with the message to 86688, and a relevant member of Castle Vale’s dedicated community team will investigate the issue.
While 74 CCTV cameras are operational across the Castle Vale estate 24/7, The Pioneer Group is urging citizens to make the most of them. Texts will alert the team to potential issues, and if an exact location is provided the CCTV team can look through footage to track events in the area.
The 86688 is a non-emergency text number and residents should always dial 101 or 999 for criminal or emergency matters.
Kate Foley, Housing & Community Services Director for The Pioneer Group explained:
“The safety of residents, their family and friends is extremely important to The Pioneer Group and we want to make sure that we have the right services in place to make Castle Vale a safe place to live and work in. By working closely with West Midlands Police, our team is always on the lookout to detect and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.”
The new text service is an additional initiative to reassure residents of The Pioneer Group’s efforts to increase public safety and establish a stronger sense of community inclusion.
Kate concluded:
“With so many devoted groups working for the cause of one estate, we know that the
majority of people want to take responsibility and support the area to flourish and thrive.. Together we can tackle any issue and continue working hard to make Castle Vale strong, safe and clean.”
