Tiggy Winkles Pegasus nursery celebrated its 20th anniversary in style with a garden party for children, parents, carers and staff on 5 June 2019.
To mark the special occasion, guests were treated to songs from one of the parents who is a professional entertainer, and other fun activities for free. Children, parents and carers enjoyed the show, and celebrated with party food and games.
Set up in 1999 as part of Pegasus School on Castle Vale, Tiggy Winkles Pegasus now employs 17 members of staff who care for children from the age of nine months to four years old. Ofsted inspection results are consistently high and are currently ‘Good’ for both nurseries.
Three original staff members (pictured) still work at the nursery, including Sharon, a Level 3 qualified Nursery Nurse, Natalie, who is now the Early Years Foundation Stage coordinator and Emma who worked her way up from a Nursery Nurse to Manager of both facilities.
Tiggy Winkles operates two nurseries in Castle Vale, with Tiggy Winkles Chivenor also celebrating its 15th anniversary earlier this year in March.
The nurseries also recently secured funding from Birmingham Airport to improve their outdoor areas. Currently, the children have full use of a playground, grassed area and an adventure play area and have regular trips out of the nursery to learn and play.
Emma Stroud, Nursery Manager at Tiggy Winkles commented:
Tiggy Winkles has a great reputation within the Castle Vale community and that’s due to the outstanding care we’ve provided over the last twenty years. We had a lovely day celebrating our anniversary and I am extremely proud of our team; without their dedication, hard work and willingness to nurture Castle Vale’s children, Tiggy Winkles wouldn’t be the fantastic success it is today.
