We understand that financial difficulties can happen to anyone, and we’re here to help. If you’re struggling to pay your rent, please know that we offer full advice and support to help you through it.
Your rent and service charges help us maintain your home and community. We know other bills are important, but keeping up with rent payments should be a priority to ensure you keep your home secure.
If you find yourself falling behind, please don’t wait – reach out to us as soon as possible. We’re here to work with you to find a way forward.
What Happens If I Miss Rent Payments?
When you signed your tenancy agreement, you agreed to pay rent on time. If you fall behind and don’t make arrangements with us, we may have to serve a Notice of Seeking Possession (NSP) – a formal step in the legal process. However, we want to avoid this and will always do our best to support you before it reaches this stage.
What Should I Do If I Receive an NSP?
If you receive an NSP, please contact our Incomes and Customer 1st Team immediately. The sooner we talk, the more options we have to help you get back on track and avoid further action.
Can I Get Help with Rent Payments?
If you’re on a low income, you may be eligible for Housing Benefit or Universal Credit to help with your rent. You can check what support you might be entitled to by using the Entitled to Budget Calculator.
