We’re looking for people who share our commitment to great housing, thriving communities and strong governance.
As a Board Member, you’ll help shape our strategic direction, providing oversight, challenge and support to ensure we deliver on our purpose and remain financially strong, well governed and focused on what matters most to our customers.
We currently have two vacancies on our Board and are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in one or more of the following areas:
These are voluntary positions. However, we will reimburse reasonable expenses incurred while carrying out Board duties.
Board Members typically commit around 15 days per year. For those serving on a committee, the commitment is approximately 23 days per year. You should also allow additional time during your induction period while becoming familiar with the organisation and your responsibilities.
We are committed to helping Board Members succeed in their role. You’ll take part in a structured induction programme and have access to ongoing learning and development opportunities designed to strengthen your governance knowledge and leadership skills. A Board mentor can also be provided where helpful.
Board business is conducted through formal meetings held throughout the year. We also hold an annual strategic away day, which all Board Members are expected to attend. Meetings can be attended in person, online or in a hybrid format to provide flexibility.
Board Members are appointed for an initial term of three years and may serve a maximum of two terms, up to six years in total. Reappointment is subject to satisfactory performance, which is reviewed annually through our Board appraisal process.
