When you book a repair with us, we’ll agree a time that works for you. Our contractors, Wrekin Housing Group or Status, will carry out most repairs on our behalf.

Here’s what to expect and how you can help things run smoothly.

Most day-to-day repairs are completed within around 7 days, depending on the type of job.

Emergency repairs are made safe within 2 hours.

  • Offer you an appointment time that suits your day
  • Turn up when we say we will
  • Treat your home with care and respect
  • Explain the work before we start
  • Make things safe if a full repair can’t be finished straight away
  • Leave your home tidy when we’re done
  • Carry ID just ask if you’d like to see it
  • Be in for your appointment (or make sure someone over 18 is there)
  • Make sure we can get access to the area that needs repairing
  • Keep pets in another room while we’re working
  • Let us know in advance about anything that might affect access (for example, health or mobility needs)
  • Tell us as soon as possible if you need to rearrange

Appointment Day

During Your Appointment

Our contractors will

  • Check what needs to be done
  • Carry out the repair or make the area safe
  • Let you know if a follow-up visit is needed

Sometimes we may need to order parts or arrange another visit. If that happens, we’ll explain what happens next before we leave.

What Happens If We Can’t Get Access?

First Appointment

If we can’t get access at your first appointment:

  • We’ll leave a card to let you know we’ve been
  • We’ll ask you to get in touch so we can book a new appointment

Second Appointment

If we’re unable to gain access again:

  • We’ll leave another card
  • We’ll ask you to contact us as soon as possible to rearrange

If we don’t hear from you

If we haven’t heard from you within five days, we may:

  • Write to you to explain why the repair is important and why access is needed
  • Try to arrange a final visit

If we still can’t make contact, we may need to pass this to our housing team so they can help get in touch and look at next steps.
