Safeguarding Safeguarding

Protecting Adults and Children

Everyone has the right to feel safe. Safeguarding means protecting people from harm, abuse, and neglect – whether they’re children, young people, or adults with care and support needs.

At The Pioneer Group, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We work with families, communities, and partner agencies to keep people safe and respond quickly when concerns arise.

What Does Safeguarding Mean?

  • Protecting health, wellbeing, and human rights.
  • Helping people live free from abuse, harm, and neglect.
  • Acting early to prevent harm wherever possible.

  • Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
  • Bullying and cyberbullying
  • Exploitation (including criminal and sexual)
  • Harmful behaviours and discrimination

  • Has care and support needs
  • Is experiencing or at risk of abuse or neglect
  • Exploitation (including criminal and sexual)
  • Cannot protect themselves because of those needs

Types of abuse can include physical, emotional, financial, sexual, neglect, domestic abuse, and modern slavery.
