Renting a garage on Castle Vale

We have a number of garages available to rent across Castle Vale. These can be a useful option if you need secure off‑street parking or a safe place to store your vehicle close to home.

Garages are available to both tenants and non‑tenants, and demand can vary depending on location. Some garages become available quickly, while others may have a waiting list, so being flexible can help.

Below you’ll find information on how much garages cost, who can apply, how we allocate them, and what happens after you join the waiting list.

  • Garage rental charges are reviewed once a year.
  • Tenants pay the rent amount only
  • Non‑tenants pay rent plus VAT

The exact cost depends on whether you are a tenant and the garage you are applying for.

Most people aged 18 or over can apply. However, you won’t be eligible if:

  • you’ve previously had a garage repossessed due to arrears or other issues
  • you owe us money, such as rent or repair charges, unless this has been fully paid

Garages must be used for vehicle storage only. You’ll need to provide proof that you own or use a vehicle and that it’s insured.

In rare cases, we may agree to other uses but you must speak to us first.

Hazardous materials are not allowed.

Garages are usually offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

We do give priority to tenants who need to transfer from an existing garage.

We may also prioritise tenants generally, but anyone can apply.

If you’re flexible about garage location, you’re more likely to be offered one quickly, sometimes immediately.

When a garage becomes available, we’ll contact you with an offer. You will need to reply to every offer, even if you’re not interested.

Please note:

  • If we don’t hear from you twice, you’ll be removed from the waiting list
  • If you turn down three offers, you’ll be moved to the bottom of the list

We also review our waiting lists from time to time. If we ask you to renew your application, you’ll need to do this within four weeks to keep your place.

If your address or contact details change, please let us know so we can keep our records up to date.
