Ending a Tenancy

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about giving notice, preparing your property, and what happens next.

1. Giving Notice

You must give us at least 4 weeks’ written notice before you leave.
Complete our End of Tenancy Form online or send a written letter to your housing officer.
Once we receive your notice, we’ll confirm your tenancy end date in writing.

2. Before You Leave

Pre-termination visit:

We’ll arrange a visit to check the property and discuss any repairs or charges.

Property condition:

Please leave your home clean, clear of belongings, and in good condition.

All keys must be returned by 9:00 am on the agreed end date.

3. Special Circumstances

Bereavement:

If you’re ending a tenancy due to a death, please contact us. We’ll guide you through the process and advise what documents we need (e.g., death certificate).

4. Outstanding Charges

Any unpaid rent or service charges must be settled before your tenancy ends.
We’ll provide a final statement and discuss payment options if needed.

5. After You Leave

We can provide a tenancy reference for rehousing upon request.
If there are any issues with the property condition or unpaid charges, we’ll contact you promptly.
