New Social Housing Innovation Fund Project to Strengthen Tenants’ Voices
We are pleased to share that The Pioneer Group will be working with Loconomy and Birmingham City Council Housing Department on a new project aimed at strengthening tenants’ voices in Castle Vale, Druids Heath, and Frankley.
Called Hidden Voices to be Heard, the project has been awarded £120,000 from the Government’s Social Housing Innovation Fund (SHIF), with Loconomy selected as delivery partner.
As one of 20 projects being delivered across England, it will explore new ways to empower residents and improve how housing services respond to their needs.
Tenants across Castle Vale, Druids Heath, and Frankley will co-design a digital tool, providing a safe platform to share lived experiences, and influence how housing services are designed and delivered.
The project’s aim is to ensure that tenants’ voices can lead to real decision-making, with landlords taking meaningful action as a result. Loconomy will work with The Pioneer Group in Castle Vale and Birmingham City Council Housing Department in Druids Heath and Frankley to support tenants throughout the project.
This reflects a wider national effort, supported by the Social Housing Innovation Fund, to empower voices that are less likely to be heard through traditional engagement routes.
