Working Together to Make Castle Vale’s Roads Safer

We’re proud to work alongside a range of partners across Castle Vale to help create safer, stronger communities.

One of those partnerships is with West Midlands Police, and together we’re encouraging local people to get involved in improving road safety across the estate.

Speeding continues to be a concern for many residents. Whether it’s around residential streets, schools or busy routes through the Vale, we know the impact speeding can have on people feeling safe in their neighbourhood.

That’s why we’re supporting a new Speed Watch Training Session, delivered by West Midlands Police, and we’re looking for residents from across Castle Vale to take part.

Help Make a Difference

The training will give you a better understanding of:

• The dangers and consequences of speeding
• How speeding affects stopping distances and road safety
• The impact road traffic incidents can have on families and communities
• Ways local people can support safer driving in their area
• Road safety initiatives taking place across the West Midlands

Whether you’re a our customer, community volunteer or simply wanting to help improve road safety where you live, we’d love you to get involved.

By taking part, you’ll be helping to raise awareness of speeding and support community efforts to make Castle Vale’s roads safer for everyone.

Using Operation Snap

Alongside the training, residents can also support road safety through Operation Snap, an online reporting tool run by West Midlands Police.

Operation Snap allows members of the public to submit video footage of suspected driving offences, including:

• Dangerous or careless driving
• Drivers using a mobile phone
• Running red lights
• Failing to wear a seatbelt
• Other examples of unsafe driving

The footage is reviewed by trained officers who decide whether further action is needed.

Get Involved

This is a chance to work alongside neighbours, community organisations and West Midlands Police to address an issue that many people across the estate care about.
